Dene Absher - Pentagram Papers 44 review
Before taking this Typography class I would not look at a font and think that it had emotion behind it. I would look at magazines, logos and signs for restaurants or stores and notice they all had similarities to them. They are all mostly bold and in caps, something to grab your attention.
This article opened my eyes to realize that people do actually chose font types based on the message they are trying to get across. I think that the 6 fonts that Errol Morris chose to compete against all were valid choices and I think that it doesn’t need any rhyme or reason to the chosen ones.
I am not very familiar with all of the different font types and faces and what makes each one different. Bakersville is a pleasing font to look at in my opinion, and I would have chosen it out of the 6 type fonts that were in the group. I love this study overall, and I think it is really interesting in the wide variety of opinion there is when it comes to which type font to pick for whatever you are creating.
